(i) Process for filing disputes over consumer credit report

According to the Procedures for Handling Consumer Credit Report Disputes in the Basic Financial Credit Information Database (Yin Zheng Xin Zhong Xin [2013] No.97):

If individuals believe the information in their credit report contains errors or omission, they may file a dispute to CCRC or its branch offices in person or by proxy.

 

File a dispute in person

To file a dispute in person, you shall provide your original valid ID document for verification, and fill in the Application Form for Dispute over Consumer Credit Report and file the duplicate of your valid ID document for further reference.

The above-said valid ID documents include ID card (both sides of the second-generation ID card shall be copied), military officer ID card, solider ID card, passport, Mainland travel permit for Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan residents and alien residence permit.

 

File a dispute by proxy

If you ask another person to file a dispute for you as proxy, the agent shall provide the originals of your and his/her valid ID documents and the Power of Attorney for verification, and fill in the Application Form for Dispute over Consumer Credit Report. The duplicates of your and the agent’s valid ID documents and the original of the Power of Attorney shall be filed for future inspection.

You may also print and fill in the Application Form for Dispute over Consumer Credit Report and the Power of Attorney. 

 

Tips for filling in the Application Form for Dispute over Consumer Credit Report:

1. In addition to the contents filled in by the receiving institution, you should fill in all the required fields as instructed.

2. “Dispute Description” shall specify:

① The business involved in the dispute, so that CCRC can accurately locate the dispute information.  For example, in respect of a dispute over credit card account, the card issuer’s name, account type, account opening date and credit line should be included. In respect of a dispute over loan information, the lending institution’s name, loan type, lending date and loan contract amount should be included.

② The data item that you think is erroneous.

3. Your telephone number or mobile number should be filled in correctly so that the customer service personnel can get in touch with you if necessary.

 

(ii) Process for filing disputes over enterprise credit report

According to the Procedures for Handling Enterprise Credit Report Disputes in the Basic Financial Credit Information Database (Yin Zheng Xin Zhong Xin [2013] No.97):

If an enterprise believes the information in its credit report contains errors or omission, its legal representative may file a dispute in person or by proxy.

 

File a dispute by the legal representative

To file a dispute with a service point in person, the legal representative shall provide the originals of his/her valid ID document and relevant enterprise’s certificates (organization credit code certificate, loan card for business enterprise or organization code certificate) and corresponding duplicates for future reference. He/she should also fill in the Application Form for Dispute over Enterprise Credit Report.

The above-said valid ID documents include ID card (both sides of the second-generation ID card shall be copied), military officer ID card, solider ID card, passport, Mainland travel permit for Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan residents and alien residence permit.

 

File a dispute by proxy

If the legal representative asks another person to file a dispute at a service pointy, the agent shall provide the originals of his/her valid ID document and relevant enterprise’s certificates (organization credit code certificate, loan card for business enterprise or organization code certificate) and the Power of Attorney of the Enterprise’s Legal Representative for verification, and provide corresponding duplicates for future reference. Also, the Application Form for Dispute over Enterprise Credit Report needs to be filled out.

* Tips:

◎ Contact information of the CCRC branches that receive application for dispute: click to view (address and contact information).

◎ After receiving application for dispute, CCRC will ask the commercial bank that provides the dispute information to conduct an investigation, and to reply to the dispute applicant within 20 days after receiving the application. After the specified 20 days, the applicant may get the reply letter from the CCRC branch.
